EBAS members assisted in rescuing stray and abandoned animals, placing them in foster homes and eventually adopting them out to a loving family. Over the past few years EBAS members have also attended to a number of animal emergencies in which animals were involved in accidents or emergency situations. these occasions have led to the formation of an unofficial emergency response team, complete with emergency supplies. through the fundraising sales of Pet Safety Alert decals we were able to purchase pet oxygen masks for our local fire departments. One of the great accomplishments of the EBAS to date is the very successful campaign to control the feral cat population in the East Beaches area. A feral cat is a cat that has had little to no human contact. Feral cats are not classified as wild animals yet many people do not consider them domestic pets, therefore ferals are often overlooked and misunderstood. The practice of TNR (trap, neuter and release) has become the most effective way of controlling feral cat colonies. Over 60 feral cats in the area have been TNR'ed by the EBAS, this has had a drastic effect on the population of these colonies and has prevented the birth of hundreds of kittens. How can I support the EBAS? The EBAS is truly grateful for all of the support we have received over the past two years. We could not have come this far without the support of our members, our volunteers and our donors. From the bottom of our hearts, Thank You.
